If you haven't read it -- fascinating New York Times story about people who vet the Legacy.com online obituary guest book before the posts are made public.
I recently read a Legacy.com guestbook entry from a person who wrote (and this is paraphrased): "We were sorry to hear about our brother's death, and we offer our condolences to his family."
It turns out that the brother and his siblings had been estranged for decades.
By the way, Amy. When I saw your headline about "Censors," I thought you had beaten me to the punch in posting an item about a paid obit, which the Times Union of Albany, N.Y., initially refused to print because of its political content.
