My comment is more of a general question about writing obituaries and the history of doing so. I am trying to figure out--for a mere half-sentence in a forthcoming book--if there was a certain time, era, or event that initiated the use of the word "cancer" in obituaries, as opposed to "a wasting disease" or some other euphemism. I'd love if someone could point me in the right direction. Keep up the good work.
