This obituary-related forum serves as the blog for The Society of Professional Obituary Writers. Please join in the discussion with and ask questions of folks who write about the dead for a living, and others, who study, enjoy, read and/or write obituaries.

One of the contributors to this forum should post a poll (polldaddy.com has a nice setup) asking what the current fascination (and I believe obits are quite popular reading) with obits is. I enjoy obits of everyday people rather than the flashy NYTimes pop crowd. I think many people like them for the same reason.
