Obit Postponement
Obit Magazine, a bimonthly publication dedicated to chronicling the lives of recently departed major figures, has decided to delay its premiere issue for six more months. The print and online versions of Obit were slated to debut on Feb. 1.
Somebody correct me, if I'm wrong, but when Krishna A. was promoting Obit mag at the 8th Great Obituary Writers Conference last summer, wasn't the "original" date for the mag's debut last October or something like that?
You may not realize it, because he hasn't posted anything, but Krishna is a member of this blog's obit team.
He promised he would post a blog about the mag when all was ready. I guess it's still not ready.
As for "Obit" being a depressing name for a magazine that's focused on obituaries, I'd say the appropriate name for it was taken long ago. "Life." After all, an obit isn't about death. It's about a person's life.

Did you ever read Biography? I used to love that magazine. Was so depressed when it shut down.
Obit is a great name .. they just have the editorial wrong. Whomever is writing their copy on their site, and editing it, should be fired. I hope they make it because if they dont the bigs will lay off this idea for another 10 years. The time for an obit magazine has come.
Another problem - obitmag.org. Should get the .com name. Just my two cents
