New published story about the 8th and other Greats

Cathy Dunphy's editors at the Toronto Star gave her so much space for "Death Becomes Us," a feature about the 8th Great Obituary Writers Conference, that she added observations and lessons from the 6th and 7th Greats.

Great job, Cathy. I especially enjoyed the stranger's comment about obit writers being poets. Nice touch.

I gave a talk to 100 residents of a retirement community today, and one of them knew Fred. He thought the obit was in bad taste not for the humor but for writing in public about things like not peeing in the shower. Many of Fred's legacy.com guest book entries were jokes from pseudonymic people, but the comment I heard from Fred's friend today was genuine and heartfelt.
